What to give the fan WHO has everything.

A Tardis Snuggie of course.

Mr. Man and Mr. D have been friends since high school.  Both are huge Doctor Who fans, and Mr. D was mostly responsible for K becoming a fanatical Who fangirl.

We wanted to make something special for Mr. D and it had to be something Doctor Who realted and unique.    We had a friend make him a ceramic dalek a few years ago and we made him fez and bow tie ornaments for his Christmas tree.  He, of course, put them on his ceramic dalek.

After Christmas last year, we were in Kroger and saw Tardis blue snuggies on sale and it just hit us.  It took almost 6 months to figure out all the bits, but last July, K and I put it together.

I did the machine work and K did all the hand sewing

Yes, it is Miss Kitty approved.

And Teenager approved as well.

For the signage, I typed up the words and found the St. John Ambulance symbol online.  Irons and fleece do not mix, so I ironed T-shirt transfers onto cotton panels.  Turned out rather well.

Mr. D was,... surprised.

The white hat was a last minute addition. We thought it added the perfect finishing touch.

Thanks Mr. D, for everything.  And you won't mind if I submit this picture to Doctor Who Insider, do you?  Nah, you won't mind.

Thanks! We're making another, going to keep this one, or rather K is going to keep this one. I think she'll share.

*interprets photos in only possible way* That's a great snuggie your cat made. It was good of you to help her a little.

Of course, what other interpretation could there be?

Yes, I have a very talented cat. I do have to press the pedal on the machine for her and thread the needles, short legs, no opposable thumbs, but other than that, she's good to go.

(Took me a while to clean my coffee off my screen after I read your comment. Must stop drinking coffee while on the computer.)

And of course your cat found the center of the fabric for you. Happens in our house all the time. This is so made of awesome I think my head exploded in Squee when I saw it. Beautifully done!

Of course, that's why we have cats. That and putting those little pulls in drapery and covering furniture and clothing with that ever attractive veil of fur.

I thank you and hope your head is back in one piece, or soon will be.

Hi, that is excellent!! How did you do the pictures on the front? are they painted, sewn, etc?

pj said...

Thanks!

Everything is sewn, except the door sign and the round hospital patch. We used iron on T shirt transfers on cotton material, and then sewed them in place.
